Raj Chouhan moved to Canada in 1973, and has spent his career fighting for regular people. Elected six times as an MLA, Raj is the first South Asian person to serve as Speaker of the House in the BC legislature. He is the founding President of the Canadian Farmworkers’ Union and the founding member of the BC Organization to Fight Racism, and he knows that regular people need a government that works for them, not the rich and the powerful.
Raj believes that people in Burnaby-New Westminster need a government that is ready to stand up for them and protect what matters - supporting workers and businesses facing tariffs, bringing down the costs people face, or strengthening the healthcare that British Columbians rely on.
